Browsing the site
The public site provides articles and browser-based search and comparison tools. It does not offer reader accounts, a newsletter signup or a contact-submission form. On the production site, optional Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use our pages. The Google tag loads only after you accept analytics. Advertising storage and personalization remain disabled. You can decline or change your choice using Analytics preferences at the bottom of the page. Your analytics choice and theme preference are stored in your browser.
Page requests are processed by the service hosting the site. Technical information associated with a request can include an IP address, browser information and the requested address. Search terms appear in the search-page URL.
When analytics is enabled, Google may process page addresses, device and browser information, interaction data and technical request information under its privacy policy. Analytics may use first-party cookies to distinguish visits. Declining analytics leaves the articles, search and comparisons available.
