A simple care routine keeps checks manageable. Use this overview to organize the work, then follow the cleaning instructions for your helmet, shield and any anti-fog insert.
After a ride
Look over the visor, fastener and visible components. Note damage or a change in operation before putting the helmet away. Let wet equipment dry according to its instructions rather than leaving it packed in a bag.
Before cleaning
Identify the shell finish, removable comfort parts and any special visor coating. Gather the products specified by the manufacturer. The shell, impact liner and anti-fog insert can require different treatment.
During cleaning
Work in an order that keeps clean and dirty parts separate. Remove only components intended to be removed, and retain their fittings together. Follow the model’s drying instructions before reassembly.
Before the next ride
Check that every removed component is correctly refitted and the controls operate normally. Record any replacement part you need. If a protective component is damaged, seek the manufacturer’s guidance before using the helmet again.
